Details to assist when contacting the Emergency services

EMERGENCY ACTION REMINDER

1. GIVE FIRST AID, secure and separate the wing to prevent dragging injury. Leave the wing spread out as visual marker.
2. GET HELP: Dial 999 and ask for Police.
   1. Tell Police controller “Fall from height, suspected significant injury, difficult access, air ambulance /SAR helicopter as appropriate”
   2. Give OS grid reference (see following pages) or What3Words Location.
   3. When helicopter is confirmed on the way, give phone to person administering first aid
      • Dispatcher can advise them.
   4. PREPARE FOR HELICOPTER
      • Clear the airspace. Blow intermittent blasts on a whistle without stopping to attract attention
      • Pilots in the air are on radio or Zello, talk to them advising them to use big ears to descend quickly (as long as it is safe to do so) and attract the attention of other pilots that something is amiss. Land well away from the accident area or fly at least 1km away and stay well away.
      • Secure all loose objects including wings, rucksacks nearby debris.
      • Signal to pilot. Stand with arms in a Y shape. Don’t Wave.
   5. Do not approach the helicopter until signalled by the crew, always approach from the front.
