Distance medals will be awarded to any HG and PG pilots who achieve the following distances: 10km, 25km, 50km, 100km, 100miles, 200km, and all higher multiples of 100km

  • Starting 2021 season
  • Open to Malvern club members
  • Hill, winch or aerotow launch flight in the UK
  • If a pilot flies a particular distance they only get a medal for the highest qualifying distance.
  • The flight is the furthest straight-line distance, with no multipliers applied, as calculated by XCLeague.
  • The flight should not infringe airspace (as defined by XCLeague, which includes Parachute Drop Zones).
  • There is a requirement to enter the flight on the XC League web site (free if you enter it under the Malvern Club).
  • It is up to the pilots concerned to make the Committee aware of their flight(s).
  • Qualifying flights should be reported to Greg Chilton.
  • Medals will be presented at Club evenings - you do need to come to a meeting to receive your medal.

 Awarded to:

Agi Zaborowska   50k
Alex Harper  50k

Stones Throw Award

Awarded to recognise the valiant but unsuccessful efforts made by members to catch that second thermal after leaving the hill, this award is for the shortest logged flight over 5km from take-off to landing (excluding ridge runs).  Previous holders have often gone on to great things, and sometimes regressed from them.

(Sadly records had not been kept for the recipients of this coveted award so if your name is missing please contact us)

Senior Bustit/Moment Trophy

As free flying gives rise to so many opportunities to make a fool of yourself, this extra award can be made to honour any particularly silly behaviour of a member not already recognised by an award.
